What To Wear To A Wedding Abroad

With our Summer Wedding Edit, it’s only right that we cover destination weddings!

The most important thing to consider when purchasing an outfit for a child to wear all day in a hotter climate is comfort. Secondly, it’s style.

The go-to attire is a mix of smart-casual and lighter fabrics/less layers. For boys, an ideal option is a waistcoat suit, or if you still want them to be wearing a five-piece suit for the big occasion a lighter colour fabric would fit the surroundings just as perfectly.

When it comes to dressing the girls, lighter, flowing dresses are a great option as they will still look the part for a dressier event such as a wedding whilst not wearing something too heavy which may lead to discomfort.

A bonus of a destination wedding is that it gives an opportunity to wear a splash of colour, as opposed to something like a black tie themed wedding. Pastels are a gorgeous pick to suit a sunnier destination as they will fit in with the surroundings. Or another option to capture the warmer vibes would be through neutral tones – think beachy sand vibes.

Another MAJOR thing to consider is accessories and footwear. Starting with shoes, if someone is having a beach wedding you don’t want your little ones wearing shoes with a little heel that could make it difficult to walk, or restricting shoes that will be extremely irritating if sand makes its way into them. Just bear in mind that you can match the laid-back feels of a beach wedding!

Accessory-wise, why not take advantage of the opportunity to play with colours? Add a pop of personality and colour with a dusky pink tie and hanky, or try out some sage braces to go with some smart trousers and a shirt if a suit isn’t on the cards.
