Meet Instagram Bloggers, Betty And Mum, Alana

We chatted to Betty and Alana, the mother and daughter combo behind the Instagram, 'It's Betty Jane Adventures'. Read about their unique home town adventures, amazing photo shoot experiences and Betty's favourite picks from Roco.

Why and when did you and Betty start blogging on Instagram?

 

I, Alana, Betty's Mum, set up Betty an Instagram page 5 years ago. After having two sons with a massive age gap I really loved the idea of dressing up my much-wanted long awaited daughter, Betty Jane.

 

I had already started an Instagram page for myself some years before and loved how fun and supported the Instagram community was. It was a way to show case Betty's beautiful outfits and our adventures, and connect with many great people and brands along the way.

Where does Betty get her style inspiration from?

 

Betty's style is a mixture of her personality. Betty loves to dress up and look pretty like a princess but you will also find her style change to casual, so she can climb trees and try out her latest acrobatic dance tricks. She’s an all-rounder that just loves the outdoors and twirling at the same time. She also loves to entertain.

You live in Australia, so how do you and Betty make the most of your lives outdoors?

 

We are very blessed to call Australia home. We live on the Central Coast- about 1 hours drive from Sydney. We are spoilt for choices surrounded by beaches and the ocean, lakes and rivers. We have a beautiful rain forest and waterfall all within close driving distance which means we are never lacking for new adventures and places to visit. You can even find us collecting pine cones at our local pine forest. Our winters are mild, nothing more than a jacket or cardigan and being so close to the ocean we are always at the beach in summer.

What are Betty’s favourite products from Roco Clothing?

 

Betty loves the fine details, she loves pretty beading work and lace. Most of all she loves a dress that flares out and twirls with her. We own Layla and Oliva dresses on our radar as our new favourite would have to be Amelie- we love the daisy detail which is perfect for our new spring season.

What has been Betty’s favourite photo shoot so far?

 

Over the years we have had so many amazing shoots. We have been part of the latest shoot we did with Frozen Moments Images, where we set a cute table up and Betty's friends, Indigo and Archie all sat down to an afternoon high tea. They also got to cuddle a basket full of newborn kittens and sit on a cute swing.

 

Our Annual Lavender shoots are most definitely our most recognised images. Each year in January since Betty has been 18 months old we have flown over to Tasmania with photographer, Rainee Lantry from Cloud Nine Photography and had images taken that change stories every year. From white horses in the as far as the eye can see lavender purple sea to a massive basket with 100 balloons like a hot air balloon about to take off into the mountains.  We have had so much fun and great memories on these shoots.
